The One With The Bride & her Doc Martins

Back on the blog since…. well… since the pandemic!! It’s been a crazy couple of years for everyone, and us wedding industry folk are certainly no exception!

I’m sure one day I’ll write about our journey during the pandemic, but for now we’re excited for the year ahead and can’t wait for a summer full of gorgeous weddings.

Storytelling wedding photography is what we pride ourselves on, so we thought we’d share a few of our favourite images every week with a little bit of back story behind each frame…..

Happy New Year!!

I adore this fun loving shot of Alice and her Bridesmaids. Taken after a glorious wedding ceremony at St Catherine’s College in Cambridge. It was the first ceremony during the pandemic in which guests where aloud to sing. Double celebration! I think that’s why I chose it for our Happy New Year social media post, the picture to me represents a little piece off that jubilant feeling along with a sign of new beginnings.

Confetti Kisses

Forever a sucker for Black & Wedding photographs. So much so I’ve often considered launching a package that offers solely black & white wedding photography. This shot was taken after the confetti run and moments before leaping into the wedding car.

L O V E

Bassmead Manor Barns is a lush wedding venue, just around the corner from us in St Neots. They 100% nail every wedding we’ve ever had the privilege of shooting and I just love the L O V E lights here and the way the DJ’S lighting adds that electric feel to Rachel & Chris’s first dance.

The Best Mans Speech

Is it even a Best Man’s speech if you’re not holding your head in your hands and thinking “Oh god please stop talking” at least once?!

Wedding Breakfast Ready

The Barn at Alswick has quickly become one of our favourite venues. Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, it has a rustic yet elegant charm and it’s surrounded by beautiful gardens that provide endless choices when it comes to wedding portraits. I particularly loved the spring feel that the table centrepieces gave the reception room!

Forever Punk

I’m known to rock a pair of sparkly DM’s on wedding days, so when my bride Amelia excitedly whispered that she was hoping to sneak her DM’s into some wedding pictures, I immediately began to plan various cute shots. This is was definitely one of my favourites!

“Do you like my new dress?”

This kid!!! She ever so gently crept into the kitchen during bridal prep and just sort of swayed holding out her new flower girl dress. I absolutely live for these storytelling moments, so natural and not choreographed in anyway.

Thank you sticking around for us to share these images with you, we hope enjoyed them, see you next week!
