Rebecca & Chris at Bassemead Manor Barns, St Neots

Bassmead Manor Barns is a beautiful venue in St. Neots that is literally 10 minutes from my house. Its such a great venue (and not just because I can be shooting the chaos of a dance floor and then be at home in my pj's with a cuppa in under 15 minutes!!) Its one of those magical places that always has somewhere new to shoot whenever I visit. The staff are always super lovely, the food is absolutely delicious and all of my couples who've married at Bassmead have always felt like they go the extra mile to make their day perfect for them.

Rebecca & Chris tied the knot at Bassmead Manor Barns last week and I had the privilege of spending the day with them and all of their friends & family. When I first met with Rebecca & Chris they told me that they were both Autumn babies, so having an autumn wedding was a natural fit for them.

As a self confessed colour addict, I adored the plum and pink Dahlia bouquets. They were absolutely stunning and such a different twist on the traditional autumnal bouquets. The deep plums of the flowers and bridesmaid dresses, along with the rich deep greens in the foliage and the little pops of pink Dahlias that they used to dress the venue, all tied together beautifully. Everything looked so gorgeous and it and it turned out to be such a lush Autumn day, so I was really happy that their vision came to life!

As lovely as flowers are, I've never made any bones about the fact that whilst I enjoy and document all of the pretty details, I'm allll about those moments. I would say that I'm more of a documentary wedding photographer. Around 90% of what I shoot is all completely unchoreographed and I spend most of the wedding day just mingling with guests, watching what everyone is up to and shooting those moments that tell the story of the wedding day. There were so many lovely moments during Rebecca & Chris's day that I was in my element! One of my favourite moments happened shortly after signing the register, when Nan, after witnessing the signing, stopped to congratulate the couple and admire the wedding ring on Rebecca's hand. It was such a natural and sweet moment and made me feel super lucky to do what i do.

Thank you so much to the lovely Mr & Mrs Thatcher for having me with you all!

A a little sneak peek of their big day....
